On this page, you will find high-resolution pictures of silicon dies. These pictures are typically taken of transistors and microchips.
Currently, I use a “Radical 2000x” metallurgical microscope with a Sony A6000 mirrorless camera. The pictures of transistors are usually “one-shot” pictures and the pictures of microchips are stitched panorama pictures. Sometimes I employ focus stacking too which I perform in Photoshop. The panorama stitching is done in Hugin, but I also use the Microsoft Image Composite Editor.
Donate.
If you like these pictures and want to see more, please consider donating. Finding these transistors and integrated circuits takes a lot of time and effort. It is also tedious to take pictures under a microscope and then process the individual pictures into a large, stitched image. The donations are always invested in buying better equipment and accessories. Thank you!
