Testing and comparing different Peltier coolers - Part 1- Introduction

This is the introduction video of my video series where I am testing 5 different Peltier coolers: TEC12703 TEC12706 TEC12708 TEC12710 TEC12715 I will measure several things. First, I measure the cold side temperature of each device at 50% of their rated maximum current (I call this Imax 50%). Then, I measure the equilibrium temperatures at different currents, and from this, I obtain the Tmin, which is the lowest achievable temperature before the Joule heating kicks in. Above the current of Tmin, the Joule effect (quadratic) overpowers the Peltier effect (linear) and by further increasing the current running through the Peltier, we start to increase the temperature of the cold side. The third part of the test is that I apply a "thermal load" to the cold side in a form of another CPU cooler. The CPU cooler should transfer the heat towards the cold side of the Peltier. I monitor the cold side temperature of the Peltier with the thermal load applied to it and see how deep it goes.
