BCC Schmid factor from Euler angles using the orientation matrix

In this video I will show you how we can get the Schmid factor of the BCC phase using the 3 Euler angles.

The steps are the following:

1.) Calculate the orientation matrix from the 3 Euler angles.

2.) Using the orientation matrix and the stress defined in the specimen coordinate system, calculate the stress in the crystal coordinate system.

3.) Using the new stress value and the 48 independent BCC slip systems, calculate the 12 Schmid factors.

4.) Pick the one with the largest absolute value.
